Our new Layer It! collection features an assortment of beaded necklaces and bracelets. Each handcrafted piece is beaded with a selection of natural stones, each chosen for their beautiful colours and patterns. But did you know that each stone also holds symbolic meaning and some believe can protect the wearer. Here is a short rundown of some of our favourite stones and their meanings
Garnet
Garnet is the birthstone of January. Its deep red colour pairs beautiful with gold tones. Garnet is one of the oldest stones to be used for spiritual protection and symbolises passion, creativity and strength.
Peridot
We love this stone for its beautiful vivid green colour. Peridot is known as the stone of compassion and is believed to bring good health, restful sleep and peace to relationships by balancing emotions and mind.
Lapis Lazuli
Lapis Lazuli has been a popular gemstone since ancient times. Its deep, celestial blue remains the symbol of royalty and honour, gods and power, spirit and vision. It is a universal symbol of wisdom and truth.
Turquoise
Another stone popular since ancient times, turquoise is prized for its sea-green colour. Believed to represents wisdom, tranquility, protection, good fortune, and hope. Turquoise pairs beautiful with gold.
Labradorite
Labradorite is a member of the Feldspar family and is treasured for its remarkable play of colour, known as labradorescence. This pale grey stone has an iridescent sheen that glimmers in the light. Some believe it enhances the wearers clairvoyant powers. We love it for its oil slick colours.
Moonstone
Moonstone is another member of the Feldspar family. It has a pearly iridescent quality to it. We love how shimmery the stone is and how beautifully it pairs with pearls.
Rose Quartz
This pink variety of quartz crystal is one of our favourite stones. The colour can vary from pale pink to hot pink and pairs beautifully with pearls and gold tones. Some believe it is the stone of love.
